Kettlewell Youth Hostel opens its doors for first YHA Day

Kettlewell Youth Hostel will throw open its doors to the community for the first YHA Day on Saturday.

Staff will hold a free barbecue at the youth hostel from 1pm to 4pm – and, from now and until then, people can buy a raffle ticket, with the hope of winning £1,000, life membership of YHA or an overnight stay for four people in a youth hostel.

Kettlewell manager Peter Ingle said: “With the famous Dales Way walking route literally on our doorstep, YHA Kettlewell has become renowned as a haven for climbing and walking.

"We pride ourselves on offering something for everyone whether it’s our restaurant famous for its locally sourced food or our family-friendly facilities. Celebrating YHA Day is an opportunity for us to show visitors and the local community all that we have to offer.”

Raffle tickets cost 50p and are available from YHA Kettlewell and other participating youth hostels.
