Chance to join reborn Skipton Cycling Club

The re-formed Skipton Cycling Club is to hold its first official membership night at the Narrowboat in Skipton on Thursday.

The club, which was formed earlier this summer by cycling enthusiast Sean McKibben, is waiting for its new kit based on the green and gold colours of the former Skipton-based outfit which folded some time ago.

Sean, who lives in the town and works for Yorkshire Housing, said: “I came to Skipton two years ago and looked for a cycling club but it had fizzled out some time ago. Since the launch of the new club we’ve met members of the old one like Eric Walker who we are making life members.”

Annual membership fee is £20 and the club is about to be affiliated to the national organisation, British Cycling.
