Austwick church set for major repairs
10:00am Sunday 7th October 2012 in News
The Church of the Epiphany, Austwick, will be closed for three weeks to allow major repair work to be carried out.
Its quinquennial examination revealed a number of issues, including urgent repairs to the roof over the chancel vestry and baptistery. Health and safety experts have said it will be unsafe to use the church whilst the roof is being repaired, so it will be closed from Monday and will hopefully reopen on Friday, November 2.
The estimated cost of the work is £40,000 and donations would be welcome.
In the meantime, Sunday services will be held at Eldroth Church and the Wednesday Holy Communion at the vicarage.
