Julian Smith meets constituents in Kettlewell
An MP has completed a mammoth 143-mile whistlestop tour of his constituency.
Julian Smith visited 27 locations during his four-day “On Your Doorstep Tour” of the Skipton and Ripon constituency.
Travelling in a vehicle provided by Ripon Land Rover, he met with residents along the route and discussed local issues and key challenges facing the communities.
The aim of the tour was to encourage more engagement with towns and villages across the 900 square miles that make up one of the largest constituencies in England.
Mr Smith said: “Each village turned into a mini MP surgery – it was brilliant to meet so many people and lots of issues and points were raised.
“It was great to be the first-ever MP to be doing a surgery in these villages.
“Thank you to everyone who came out to see me and I hope to be doing another similar tour next year.”
In Craven, Mr Smith visited Horton-in-Ribb-lesdale, Ribblehead, Ingleton, Burton-in-Lonsdale, Bentham, Gargrave, Buckden, Kettlewell, Burnsall, Appletreewick, Embsay, Cowling, Cononley and Carleton.
