Housing plans for North Parade, Skipton, to go on display

An exhibition of plans for a new housing estate off North Parade, Skipton, is due to be held on Monday.

The drop in consultation will be held at the Greatwood Community Centre from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, and will give residents a chance to talk to the developer.

The scheme, for around 140 homes, plus a convenience store, was first revealed earlier this year at a meeting of the estate committee.

Developer Amenbury Property Ltd promised at the time to consult with residents before submitting a planning application to Craven District Council.

The company has said the number of homes will depend on the number of affordable houses required by Craven District Council.

It is also in talks with Skipton Town Council about the purchase of a strip of land needed to gain access to the site.

Residents have raised concerns about the number of houses and are also concerned about the pressure on essential services, access problems and increased traffic on roads.
