Mystery as fair banners go missing
6:16pm Thursday 11th October 2012 in News
Officials from the North West Fuchsia Society are baffled by the disappearance of two banners advertising their recent craft fair at Gargrave Village Hall.
One had been tied to the railings near the river bridge opposite the Dalesman Café in the village.
But it went missing just days after it had been put up, “It had obviously been cut down as the string was still attached to the railings,” said secretary Paula Jackson.
The other banner disappeared from the side of the A59 opposite The Bull at Broughton.
Mrs Jackson added: “It is a mystery. We have never had any bother before. We would like the banners back as we reuse them each year.”
Their disappearance is being investigated by PC Simon Crossley and anyone with information should contact him at Grassington Police Station using the non-emergency telephone number 101.
