Thieves steal 45 sheep

Forty five Texel breeding sheep have been stolen from a field on Malham Moor.

The sheep were being prepared for sale at the forthcoming auctions and were taken between Tuesday, September 18 and last Thursday, October 4.

Investigating officer Simon Crossley said: “Each animal should have an identification tag in its ear with the flock number of UK 123738. “The police are asking people to be vigilant especially leading up to the auction sales and to report any suspicious activity, vehicles or persons, particularly in remote locations or at night.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Crossley at Grassington Police Station.
