The 26 cast cattle forward at Skipton Auction Mart’s weekly prime cattle sale firmed in price due to falling numbers nationally to achieve an overall cull cow average of £829.14 each, or 115.99p/kg.
Limousins had the pick of the trade, selling to a per head high of £1,107 for an entry from A Sykes and Son, of South Crosland, Huddersfield, with a by-weight top of 136.5p/kg from Jeff Pickles, of Chapel-le-Dale.
D&S Hollings, of Pecket Well, were also to the fore with another Limousin cow at £1,098 and a British Blue at £914.
