A DOUBLE Dales tradition of motorcycle action and Yorkshire hospitality was proved to be alive and well.

For the past two decades members of the Halton Gill Ladies Circle have provided catering for the old-established Allan Jefferies Trophy Trial.

The trial, staged by the Bradford Motor Club has a 68-year history, and has always taken place in Wharfedale and Littondale.

The competitors, from all parts of the British Isles, have enjoyed the veritable feast baked, cooked and prepared by the Halton Gill residents.

For almost 20 years the event was based across the stream in a field where the first catering 'unit' was a tent.

The refurbishing of the Halton Reading Rooms provided a permanent base for the trial, and the refreshment service.

The ladies prepare and served to order, and it has been suggested that some competitors only enter the trial to enjoy the food on offer.
