A TRADITIONAL barn at Windy Pike, Hanlith, can be converted for business use.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority agreed a change of use for the vacant barn, which has had many uses over the years, including as a house, milking parlour and cattle shed.

The scheme would see the ground floor converted into a garage/workshop, with a laundry and drying room, staff kitchenette, store and washrooms, and the first floor into two offices with a further washroom.

A design and access statement said the proposals would not adversely affect the barn's character and appearance, the setting of the buildings at Windy Pike or the visual amenity of the landscape.
