AFTER the resounding success of Kettlewell’s first-ever Made In’t Dale Mayfest last year, the village plans to make the 2015 event bigger and better.

It will take place on Saturday, May 23, and the organisers are keen to hear from local bands and musicians who would like to show off their talent on stage, as well as speciality food producers, craftspeople and artists from across North Yorkshire.

The aim of Mayfest is to celebrate the broad spectrum of talent and skills that flourishes across the Yorkshire Dales and bring a vibrant new dimension to traditional farming communities.

The day will once again include a live music stage, art and craft marquees, children’s fun and games, country sports and skills demonstrations, real ale bar and plenty of food delights, from award-winning bangers to WI cakes.

The fashion show in St Mary’s Church will also be repeated, this time featuring designs for men as well as women.

The End of Festival Finale will feature a live band on the music stage in the main festival field on Saturday evening.

Mayfest is a not-for-profit event and any funds raised will be invested in the village on projects such as a community garden.

Anyone interested in being involved should contact Caroline Hatton, by email at caroline@kettlewellmayfest.co.uk or by telephone on 01756 760378.
