A SPARKLING new kitchen will help Grassington's Devonshire Institute provide top-of-the-range catering facilities.

Work has just finished on refitting the kitchen with new units and worktops, plus a stainless steel cooker hood, with an official open day to unveil the new facilities to take place shortly.

The units, in Shaker cream and with matt black worktops, were donated by Howden's Joinery of Skipton, and were fitted free by Rob Gower, whose family has a long association with the Institute.

Chairman of the Trustees Mel Wynn said: "We are very grateful for the massive amount of help we have had with this - there's thousands of pounds worth in unit costs and labour.

"Updating the kitchen was one of those things we had to get done to keep up with modern regulations - we're very pleased with it and our thanks go to everyone who has put so much time and effort in. They have helped to provide a kitchen that is more functional and gives a more pleasant working environment."

Meanwhile, there is a fund-raising bingo night at the Devonshire Institute tomorrow, Friday, February 13.

There is a family prize bingo session 6-7.30pm - £4 for adults, £2 for children - followed by over 18s cash bingo, 7.30-9pm. Refreshments will be on sale.
