THE countdown is on to Skipton Auction Mart’s 2015 pedigree beef show season, featuring four high profile fixtures.

It kicks off as usual with ‘Blue Wednesday,’ the annual show and sale of British Blue breeding bulls, cows and heifers, on Wednesday, April 29. Bulls suitable for both pedigree and commercial beef and dairy herds will again be on offer, with a supporting prize sale for British Blue-sired store cattle.

The season continues on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 12 and 13, with Craven Limousin Day, an much anticipated early season highlight for breed enthusiasts.

Day one of the popular double header features the annual show-only Northern Limousin Extravaganza for 2014-born halter-led pedigree and cross-bred Limousin youngsters. Again on the agenda the same afternoon is a stock judging event organised by the North East Limousin Breeders Club.

There’s also an opportunity for pre-sale viewing of entries for the following day’s prestigious annual Spring show and sale of pedigree Limousin bulls and females. This, too, is supported by NELBC.

The curtain falls on Wednesday, May 27, with Skipton’s ‘Ling Fields Beef Cattle Fair,’ the annual multi-breed show and sale of pedigree beef breeding cattle, coupled with the late Spring sale of breeding bulls. Only halter-led cattle qualify for the show classes.
