Year 5 and Year 6 children have been sawing, hammering and gluing to make medieval battering rams under the guidance of craftsman Dave Jackson.
He was at Carleton Endowed Primary School for a craft day, one of a series he has held at the school.
“The children love it – they’re hammering, sawing and making interesting things,” said administrator Beryl Holmes.
In the past, pupils had made Tudor ships and a World War Two Anderson shelter.
Headteacher Duggie Speight said: “Children in Year 5 and Year 6 made some fantastic battering rams with Dave Jackson. “I was very impressed with the commitment and skills shown by everyone. Well done.
“Thank you also to Dave for once again providing an inspirational and fun day.”
