WEST CRAVEN HIGH TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE

WEST Craven High Technology College said it was pleased with its GCSE results.

Headteacher Craig Baker said: "Despite the enormous volatility in results seen nationally, this year, we have not been affected as much as some schools.

"Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) have been explicit that results this year cannot be compared to last year, and in light of this, our figure of 50 per cent 5A* to C including English and maths is one our staff and students we can be rightly proud of. English has remained at the national average with maths just under.

"Some notable successes include Oliver Wilkinson in year nine who gained A* in French, year 10 students Tilly May Johnson, Nimrah Khan and Ellie McKee and some outstanding results for year 11 students Emily Cox, Natasha Darcey and James Goodall, to name but a few."

(The first figure is the number of GCSE A*-G passes and the figure in brackets is the number of GCSE A* to C passes)
