PUPILS are getting involved in the work of the charity, Rays of Sunshine, which supports seriously and terminally ill children by granting magical wishes.
The youngsters at Bradleys Both Primary School have been told all about the charity by Embsay's Alice Halstead, a special ambassador, who was helped by Rays of Sunshine when seriously ill.
Headteacher Barry Rogers said: "The children will be taught about the work of the charity and learn important life skills including empathy and understanding about other people's needs.
"Alice talked to the children about the impact of having a special day and wish granted when you are very poorly.
"The children are supporting the charity by collecting Christmas present donations for children aged three to 12 over the half term break so that they can be given to the poorly children at their charity Christmas party."
