EXPLORER, lecturer, photographer, author and broadcaster John Pilkington will give the next Gigg Lecture.
Described as one of Britain’s greatest tellers of travellers’ tales, Mr Pilkington has made numerous trips through the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, Central and Eastern Asia.
In 2009 he spent six months in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran and, in a sequel to this dangerous trip, he made a further journey in 2011 from Georgia to Afghanistan.
In 2013 he made a trip - which proved full of surprises - from Venice to Istanbul and this is the subject of his latest talk, A Balkan Adventure, which will be delivered in Giggleswick School's Richard Whiteley Theatre tonight at 7pm.
Tickets cost £8 (under 18s £6) and are available from giggleswick.org.uk/rwt or call 01729 893180.
