YEAR Five and Six children from Settle Primary School got their running shoes on and were crowned Craven Sportshall Athletics Champions.
Boys and girls across from primary schools across the area took part in the event, which was held at Sandylands Sports Hall, Skipton, and included a number of sporting disciplines such as javelin throwing, long jump, triple jump and short and relay racing.
Settle headteacher Richard Wright said: "The Craven area has a strong sporting tradition and this event was hotly contested and extremely exciting to watch.
"It was an excellent way of showcasing just how talented some of our youngster are and we are proud that Settle Primary School did particularly well at this event."
The Settle youngsters will now represent Craven at the North Yorkshire School Games at Catterick Leisure Centre on Thursday, February 26.
