A village pantomime has raised more than £1,000 for a children’s charity.

And a long-serving member of the group is hoping to boost the coffers further by having 14 inches cut off her hair.

Every year, Addingham Pantomime Group has a collection for a chosen charity and this year’s charity was The Little Princess Trust. It provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses.

Inspired by the charity, Jessica Doherty, who has been involved in pantomime since she was seven, is having 14 inches cut off her hair and will donate her locks towards the making of a wig on her 19th birthday.
