MUMS and teachers from Glusburn Community Primary School revelled in mud glorious mud – and raised cash for charity.

A six-strong team of mothers took on five staff in the Pretty Muddy Race for Life at Temple Newsam, Leeds.

And the mums were victorious after completing the five-kilometre course, which included 10 muddy obstacles.

But the real winner was Cancer Research, which will benefit to the tune of more than £2,300 thanks to the school's efforts.

"Ahead of the start of the race we were interviewed on stage to tell our stories and our reasons for taking part," said Jo Barnes, a member of the mums team.

"Despite cool, drizzly weather there was an amazing atmosphere and it was fantastic to be a part of it."
