A GRASSINGTON man uploaded indecent images of children and one extreme pornographic image involving an animal, Skipton magistrates were told.

At court on Friday, Joe Azzopardi, 65, admitted three charges of making indecent images of a child at his home in Summers Fold on March 7, 2004; April 26, 2004; March 10, 2013, and on June 29, 2013.

He also admitted the possession of an extreme pornographic image on March 10, 2013.

The court heard that Azzopardi had been subject to an investigation after a report was received of a single indecent image being uploaded in July, 2012. A year later, a warrant was issued and computer equipment seized from his house.

Azzopardi, a man of previous good character, admitted to police visiting adult sites on the internet three or four times a week after work to unwind.

The court heard there was not a vast number of images and all were at the lowest, category C level.

Magistrates adjourned sentencing to September 12 for a full, all options report.
