YOUNG residents of a housing association scheme in Skipton enjoyed a range of fun activities as part of a summer community day.

Youngsters from Willow Way, which is managed by Jephson Homes Housing Association, enjoyed basketball and arts and crafts at the event.

They also had the chance to meet local police and fire officers, children’s services and Jephson staff. Police provided security tagging for bikes to help identify them should they be lost or stolen.

Meanwhile face painting was provided by Karen Fletcher, resident liaison officer at Jephson’s painting contractor Bell Group.

During the day, children played a game where they had to divide certain life choices into “good” and “bad”, and were told about a competition to win a cinema voucher by designing “promises” for acceptable behaviour.

Residents young and old were asked to give their feedback on Jephson, their community and their homes. The housing association plans to use this feedback to help improve the local area.

Stuart Shore, Jephson North regional director, said: “It was great for our staff to meet some of our younger residents and their parents and guardians in a social setting, and to host an enjoyable day for them during the summer holidays.

“It is important for us that we give something back to the communities in which we work and we thank everyone for coming along on the day.”
