A WOMAN suffered a suspected broken leg after being trampled by cows.

The incident happened while she was walking her dogs along the Dales Way above Kettlewell around lunchtime on Friday.

She was assisted by paramedics from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and members of the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association.

A UWFRA spokesman said: "The lady had been walking with her dogs on the Dales Way above Kettlewell when the cows trampled her despite releasing the dogs.

"After treatment by an air ambulance paramedic, she was transported by helicopter to a waiting road ambulance where she was transferred with the assistance of team members."
