STAFF at Skipton Body Repair Centre will be swapping spanners for sponges on Saturday.

They are holding a charity car wash at the centre, on Engine Shed Lane, to raise money for local tot Connor Wrighton.

Connor was born blind and his parents, Nathan and Lisa, are trying to raise about £13,000 to pay for stem-cell therapy overseas which could give him some sight.

The car wash will operate from 8.30am to 2.30pm and staff are asking for a donation of at least £4 for cars and £5 for 4x4s.

"Come on down and help make a difference," said repair centre owner Tony Piotrowicz.
