MORE than £1,500 has been handed to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance thanks to the Tour de Bradley.
Philip Cook, landlord of the Slaters Arms, presented a total £1,561.70, raised in a Tour de France-themed event around the village, to Tony Doveston from the air ambulance.
Mr Cook thanked Chevin Cycles for providing the bicycle used by participants in the event at £5 a time, which then went into a draw, raising £600 towards the total.
The fastest time was fromJim Lampkin, in one minute, 39 seconds, while Mr Booth said the best effort was from Charles Kidd, in two minutes, two seconds.
Mr Cook also thanked Harold and Katie Bond for running a cake stall at the event, Richard and Janet Smith for manning the barbecue, which made £300, and Roger Ingham for his commentary.
