THE Three Links Club, Skipton, is holding a country and western weekend.

Running from tomorrow to Sunday, it promises to be a musical extravaganza, with five live acts booked.

First up - on Friday evening - will be Little Rock, featuring Roy Orbison tribute artiste Steve Place.

Steve has played at many of the biggest festivals and venues, including the Royal Academy of Music in London.

On Saturday, Pete Jones takes to the stage at noon.

He has been entertaining people at venues across the UK for more than 30 years and can still remember his first singing job on June 5, 1978.

Award-winning country duo Luke and Mel entertain on Saturday night, from 7.30pm.

Formed in early 2012, Luke Thomas and Melanie Greggain are hailed as the hottest young act in UK country music, combining haunting harmonies with fine musicianship.

They won last year's British Country Music Awards (BCMA) Horizon Act of the Year Award and have just released their debut EP.

Sunday's entertainers are Dave Cash at noon and Malc (MT) Allen at 7.30pm.

Brought up in Newcastle, Dave spent most of his working life as a truck driver and started singing in 2003, specialising in old traditional country songs.

Malc, however, has been involved with music all his life, playing with various bands including Harmony, Broken Spoke and Outlaw. He is currently chairman of the BCMA and the British Country Music Hall of Fame.

Entry to the concerts is free and for more information, contact 01756 798022.
