LOCAL soprano Bibi Heal and pianist Daniel Gordon will give a recital of song and opera at St Stephen's Church, Skipton, tomorrow.

The Eyes of a Child: Prayers, Lullabies and Flights of Fancy will include well-loved pieces and some new discoveries, chosen for their beauty, imagination and immediate appeal.

A frequent soloist with Opera North as well as across the UK and Europe, Bibi, a member of St Stephen’s Church, is an exceptionally compelling and lively communicator. She has become known for opening musical doors to those who might not otherwise know where to begin with the world of classical music.

She said: “Live music is for everyone and classical music is such a very wide bracket. There’s always a passion in there for everyone. It’s amazing to see audiences of all ages coming to life, discovering music they never knew could move them so much.”

The recital will take place at 7.30pm and proceeds will be divided between the church restoration funds and SOS Children’s Villages. Admission is £10 for adults, including refreshments, and free for children and young people in full time education.
