A SKIPTON charity shop is asking for the public's help to trace a hand-knitted jumper that was stolen from a window display,

The jumper - with a Skipton ram on the front - was in the window of Oxfam, on Swadford Street, and was being used to promote the town's Yarndale Festival.

Oxfam manager Carl Knott said: "A number of items in the window display were not for sale as many were personal possessions of supporters.

"However the jumper had been donated to our shop and we were planning to hold a raffle for it as so many people had offered to buy the jumper from the display.

"Obviously the volunteers and I are very upset about this theft."

The jumper is believed to have been taken around noon on Tuesday, September 23, and anyone with information is asked to contact Skipton Police on 101 or the shop on 01756 798347.
