SKIPTON man James Andrew Crockett has elected crown court trial on charges of benefit fraud.
Crockett, 43, of Ship Corner, Swadford Street, is accused of failing to notify the Department of Work and Pensions of a change in his circumstances between April 9, 2007, and December 28, 2012.
He is also charged with making a false statement with a view to obtaining incapacity benefit on October 31, 2008; and on December 3, 2010.
Crockett appeared at Skipton Magistrates Court on Friday when he elected crown court trial. He is due to make his first appearance at Bradford Crown Court next Friday, October 24.
