BARNOLDSWICK is holding a February Feast to celebrate winning the Great British High Street Award.
The event, which will take place on Saturday, February 14, will be a celebration of all things culinary and includes hosting the World Meat Pie Championship.
February Feast: Love food, Love Barnoldswick is being organised by the Town Centre Action Group, together with Barnoldswick Town Council and will be a showcase of the town’s restaurants and food outlets.
“We talked about having a February event on the train to London when we collected our Great British High Street Award," said Richard Milner and David Whipp, co-chairmen of the town centre group. "The Feast will be a fantastic opportunity for everyone to celebrate the best of Barnoldswick’s baking, cooking and culinary skills and winning the High Street Award, too!
“This week, we received a cheque for the £6,000 prize and will be putting some of it to good use with this new promotion. The day will be a chance for lots of hands on food-related activities, including the World Meat Pie Championships.
“Holding the Feast on Valentine’s Day underlines that people fall in love with Barnoldswick’s traditional charm and the diverse businesses it’s home to.”
