A PLANNING inspector has upheld a decision to refuse plans to build a house at Glusburn Bridge, Glusburn.
The application to build in the garden of Bridge End House was refused by Craven District in August last year because of its impact on the character and appearance of the area.
That decision has now been upheld by a planning inspector who added the failure of the council to have a five-year housing land supply did not change his mind.
"I have found that the proposal would significantly and demonstrably harm the character and appearance of the countryside, and have an adverse impact on protected trees," said Nicholas Taylor.
"The absence of a five-year housing land supply does not overcome the harm in this case."
