A FAMILIAR face will return as chairman of the West Craven Area Committee
After the Liberal Democrats won back control of the area committee following elections earlier this month, Barnoldswick councillor David Whipp, who has been on Pendle Council since 1980, was selected as chairman at a committee meeting last week (May 12).
He takes over from Cllr Rosemary Carroll, an Earby Conservative, who had been chairman since May 2014.
Cllr Richard Milner's victory over Jennifer Purcell in Barnoldswick's Craven ward in the May 7 elections sees the Lib Dems with five seats on the committee. The Conservatives have four seats.
Cllr Ken Hartley, a Liberal Democrat in the Craven ward, is the new vice chairman.
