SILSDEN'S gala queen for 2015 has been chosen.
She is 12-year-old Faith Jordan, a pupil at South Craven School, who was picked during an event at Silsden's Punch Bowl pub.
Also chosen were gala rosebuds Hayley Jordan, seven, who is Faith's sister, and Maisie McGlinchey, nine.
Gala promoter Sally Isherwood said there were five entrants this year for the gala queen and rosebud slots.
"A few years ago we would have had a dozen or 20 entries," she added. "We do want more youngsters to come forward in future, we're looking for children aged five plus.
"We want to encourage more interest in the gala. I know people do have a lot on, but we like people to participate."
The town's gala is taking place on Sunday, July 26. There will be a procession with bands, floats and people in fancy dress.
Weather permitting, the main part of the event will be held in Silsden Park and will feature the crowning of the gala queen, presentations for the best float and costume, a bouncy castle, stalls and a display by the local majorettes.
