VILLAGERS are to meet to decide how to "respond as a community" to proposed cuts in bus services.
Parish councillors in Kettlewell have called the meeting for tomorrow at 6pm in the village hall.
North Yorkshire County Council is proposing to reduce the amount it spends on subsidising public transport by a quarter, to £1.5 million.
Kettlewell would be particularly affected by a proposed reduction of frequency in the 72 Skipton to Grassington service.
The council has put forward proposals for a two hourly daytime service through Kettlewell instead of the present hourly one.
Councillors have asked for as many people as possible to attend and have a say, even if they are not currently bus users, so they can gain a clear understanding of what villagers need from bus services.
