THE Manchester Chorale - a high-quality, mixed-voice choir - will perform its third concert at Bolton Abbey Priory on Saturday.
It was founded and funded by the BBC in 1979, but since the late 1980s has been totally independent.
The choir enjoyed successful concerts at the Priory in 2007 and 2010.
Now under the musical direction of Jill Henderson-Wild, the choir aims to achieve high standards and that is reflected in competition successes at Sligo, Worcester and Bangor.
The choir has become one of the best known names in the Sainsbury's Choir of the Year Competition, with regular televised appearances in the final stages of the competition, and has made a number of other television appearances.
However, despite the prestige and excitement of these occasions, The Manchester Chorale remains a down-to-earth, friendly choir which enjoys singing in a variety of styles.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets costing £10 are available from the Priory Office on 01756 710238 or on the door on the night.
