SKIPTON played host to a party from Harrogate Civic Society last week
As well as the attractions they were expecting, members were treated to the spectacle of the Freedom Parade by soldiers of the Yorkshire Regiment.
They were later given a guided tour of the older parts of the town by Skipton Civic Society’s co-chairman Susan Wrathmell and enjoyed tea and homemade cakes at the Soroptimist Rooms with other Skipton members.
The Harrogate party said that most had visited Skipton before, but had not appreciated how much there was to see. One of them said that if they remembered only 10 per cent of what they had learned, their visit would have been well worthwhile.
