WITH the arrival of summer, the Dales Experience Bus is back on the road.

It will run every Tuesday and Wednesday, starting at Bradford Interchange at 10am and picking up along the Aire Valley, including Steeton and Skipton.

On Tuesdays, it follows last year’s Le Tour route through Cracoe to Grassington and onwards past Kilnsey Crag, Kettlewell and Buckden before climbing over Kidstones Pass to Aysgarth and Hawes.

A day return costs £7 from Bradford to Grassington or £9 from Bradford to Hawes. Senior bus passes are welcome and under 19s pay just £1 each way.

On Wednesdays, the bus takes the shorter journey to Malham, where passengers can take a stroll up to the Cove or Gordale Scar. Alternatively alight at Airton, visit the café at Town End Farm and stroll along the 50-year-old Pennine Way into Malham.

The return fare is £7.50 with pass holders free and youngsters up to 19 paying £1 each way.

M Card and Metro Card holders travel free on Dales Experience buses, which are managed and promoted by the volunteer-led Dales and Bowland Community Interest Company (a subsidiary of the Yorkshire Dales Society). The service is also supported by Metro and the Yorkshire Dales Society to encourage people who don’t normally visit the Dales to do so at least once a year.
