TWENTY children from Kildwick School played either hockey, tag rugby or netball at the North Yorkshire games finals at Queen Margaret's School, York. They reached the finals of three separate events, which is a first for the school.

Clare Smurthwaite, the school PE co-ordinator, said: "It was an incredible achievement. There are only 36 children in upper key stage two at Kildwick School, but luckily, we have many very sporty pupils. They all did brilliantly and displayed excellent team spirit, as always."

The children were presented with medals and a healthy treat during a school assembly

Mrs Smurthwaite added she was impressed by the superb levels of fitness and determination showed by every team member.

Those who took part were: Alice Fisher, Anna Lodge, Ashley Painter, Charlie Mitchell, Ella Pickard, Ellie Wallace, Finlay Bridge, Fraser Dickinson, Izzy Pickard, Lilli Carr, Logan Brown, Luke Butterfield, Millie Barker, Natasha Lambert, Rhys Troake, Roxanne Collett, Tom Felgate, Tomasso Campana, Tui Brooks and Wilf Roberts.
