SKIPTON Girls' High School says this year's results reflect the aspiration, ability and commitment of students, the support, care and expertise of staff and the continued support of our parents and wider community.

Fifteen students achieved a clean sweep of A* and A grades across all subjects and overall 58 per cent of all grades were A* or A.

Sixty eight per cent of the year 11 cohort gained five or more A* to A grades.

Headteacher Jenn Plews said: "This is testament to their consistent hard work coupled with great teaching and learning.

"Seventy per cent of students achieved the English Baccalaureate with particularly impressive results in mathematics, history and geography.

"Our year 10 students have also secured superb results this year for the GCSEs they have sat one year early. We are enormously proud of their achievements, reflecting the dedication, hard-work and commitment they have shown throughout the academic year, supported by their parents and staff.

“Our girls have again done extremely well and I am enormously proud of each and every one of them. These results reflect outstanding progress and considerable determination and resilience, as well as student’s individual talents, and the girls – and their brilliant teachers – are to be warmly congratulated!”

Enrolment for the sixth form is now open, with the term starting on Wednesday, September 9, at 8.50am. For a tour or visit to the school, contact reception or email sghs@sghs.org.uk/ or reception@sghs.org.uk
