PENDLE Council is giving everyone opportunity to have their say on planning matters.

A six-week public consultation on the recently updated Statement of Community Involvement in Planning (SCI) will run until Friday, December 18, giving all Pendle residents, including those living in West Craven, the opportunity to have their say.

Since the current SCI was adopted in 2007, there have been a number of changes to planning legislation, national planning policy and guidance.

Every local planning authority in England is legally required to ensure their SCI remains up to date and has involved the community in its development.

Next year the council will start work on Part 2 of the new Pendle Local Plan, which will allocate new sites for future development.

It will also draw up detailed policies to help manage development activity in Pendle up to 2030.

The updated SCI will help to ensure the council uses the most appropriate ways to engage with members of the public, business leaders and voluntary organisations in the preparation of the Local Plan.

To register with Pendle Council and have a say on the local plan, email ldf@pendle.gov.uk or ring 01282 661330.
