A BENTHAM charity has organised a concert featuring the celebrated virtuoso partnership of Irish harpist Máire Ní Chathasaigh and acoustic guitarist Chris Newman.
They will present traditional Irish music, swing jazz and bluegrass plus festive favourites at Bentham Golf Club on Sunday, from 3.30pm.
The concert follows a successful voice and guitar recital last year organised by Longstaffe’s Educational Foundation, which was originally established in 1713.
It was an enormous success and there were countless requests to stage similar concerts in the future.
This year's format will be similar to the previous concert with a welcoming drink on arrival and refreshments in the interval. The bar will also be open.
Admission will be by ticket only and these are available at £12.50 each from Bentham Golf Club, High Bentham Post Office and from David Johnson on 015242 61905. Advance booking advisable.
Proceeds will help to provide funds for the young people of High and Low Bentham to help with their education.
