ADVENTURER, film-maker and writer Leon McCarron will deliver the next Gigg Lecture on Monday.

He has cycled from New York to Hong Kong, walked 3,000 miles across China and trekked 1,000 miles through the Empty Quarter desert.

In 2014 he followed the Karun, the longest river in the Islamic Republic of Iran, from source to sea, hoping for an insight into one of the most intriguing and misunderstood places in the world.

Mr McCarron, who is from Northern Ireland, will share his discoveries, as well as the lessons he has learned from making adventure a way of life.

The lecture will take place at Giggleswick School's Richard Whiteley Theatre at 7pm and tickets are available from giggleswick.org.uk/rwt or call 01729 893180.
