A PUBLIC meeting to discuss problems for local businesses caused by the closure of the A59 road at Kex Gill will take place at Millstones Restaurant, Felliscliffe - on the A59 - on Wednesday, January 20, at 7pm.
It has been organised by members of Washburn Parish Council and among those who have been asked to attend are Skipton and Ripon MP Julian Smith and police representatives.
The road at Kex Gill, between Skipton and Harrogate, is expected to be closed for at least six weeks because of the danger of a landslip following recent heavy rain. It has been closed since January 5.
Washburn councillor Howard Barker said: "The closure is already hitting businesses and hauliers hard. We want to get everyone together to see what can be done as a matter of urgency. Everyone is welcome to come along and have a say."
