TWO historic gardens will be throwing open their gates so the public can enjoy this year's stunning display of snowdrops.
Parcevall Hall Gardens, at Skyreholme, will hold a Snowdrop Weekend on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm.
As the gardens are on a steep hillside, visitors are advised to wear walking shoes with good grips and to take care on the woodland paths.
Entry is £4 for adults and free for children under 12 and the money should be put in the honesty box at the door of the gardens office by the main entrance.
There will be no refreshments available as the gardens do not officially open for the new season until April 1.
Meanwhile more than 50 varieties of snowdrops can be viewed in the gardens of Austwick Hall Hotel, Austwick, every Sunday in February between noon and 4pm.
The hotel is also taking part in the National Gardens Scheme's Snowdrop Festival and will hold an special open gardens event on Wednesday, February 24, from noon to 4pm.
Admission is £4 for adults and free for children free and homemade teas will be available.
