Library event: The next fundraising event for Gargrave and Malhamdale Community Library will be held tomorrow from 7pm in Gargrave Village Hall. Mike Pannett, the author of numerous books on police stories in North Yorkshire, will tell some of his tales with warmth and humour. Mike, who has appeared on both Country Cops and Newsnight, has offered to bring a packet of Yorkshire Tea for people attending. Admission will be £5 on the door which will include either tea or coffee.

Sequence dance: The monthly sequence dance is being held from 7.30pm in the village hall on Saturday. Entry is £4 per person, which includes tea and biscuits, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Hall bingo: A bingo session will be held in the annex of the village hall from 7.30pm on Wednesday.

Coffee morning: The next coffee morning at the village hall will be next Saturday, March 29, between 10am and noon. The community library will hold its monthly 100 club draw at this event.

Ellie Gill Band: The Ellie Gill Band – formed in the autumn of 2011 as a support group for jazz singer Clare Teal – will perform at the village hall on Saturday, April 5. The band has built up a loyal and ever-expanding fan-base and has received radio airplay. Its unique blend of jazz, blues, ballads and pop has made it hugely popular with audiences across Yorkshire. The concert will start at 7pm and tickets are available from the Newsagents or by ringing Caroline on 749235 or Frank on 749609. The the cost is £10 per person which will include a pie and peas supper.

Zumba: From Monday, April 28, the weekly zumba classes will take place every Monday at 1pm and every Thursday from 5.45pm. The class on Tuesday evening is cancelled from April 29.
