In 2005, Chris Foster and John Richardson began checking early local newspaper articles to discover how many additional fatalities there may have been not recorded in the book. By setting up a website using the initial letters of the book - cpgw - and asking for more information, replies came from far and wide. Research is still ongoing, but, by 2011, an additional 2,655 names had been received, 503 of whom were not recorded on local war memorials. This was a rather complex subject but one that was thoroughly appreciated by those who were there.
