SKIPTON Soroptimist president Barbara Sanderson and friends are assembling Christmas shoeboxes for disadvantaged children as part of the International Aid Trust.
A coffee morning held in the town's Soroptimist Rooms raised £335 and 44 shoeboxes full of items for children and two adults will be donated to the trust.
A recent quiz night and pie and pea supper raised £228 for the Soroptimist International's Birthing in Gambia Appeal and fees and donations from Pat and Philip Alker's talk on Chile were sent to Project Dukem which supports a school for HIV/Aids orphans, disadvantaged and abused children in Dukem, Ethiopia.
