MEMBERS of Upper Wharfedale Field Society will take a trip by in time with Photos Of Old Burnsall on Monday.

They will be shown by Alan Stockdale, who, after moving into his house in 1975, discovered the attic contained boxes of glass photo slides taken around the turn of the 20th century.

He eventually found that they had been taken by Harry Mortimer-Batten and, apart from photographs of wildlife, flora and fauna, there were also fascinating pictures taken in and around Burnsall.

It is these latter pictures which are the basis for Monday’s talk, which will take place in the Octagon Theatre, Grassington Town Hall, at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome, with an entrance fee of £2 for non-members.
