OLAF the Snowman made a special appearance at the sixth annual charity dance held by Partners Dance Centre at Skipton Academy. The evening was well supported by ballroom dancers of all levels and entertainment included a showcase by dance school pupils, demonstrations by a competitive couple and a fun-filled competition with children taking to the floor with their parents.

Medals were presented to all who had participated in the recent IDTA awards in which the school maintained its 100 per cent pass rate.

The charity dance is an annual event and this year's proceeds were donated to the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford after a client lost his battle with cancer earlier this year.

Principal Howard Bullock said: "It is amazing to see what can be achieved by the generosity of our students. We have raised almost £5,000 over the last few years and look forward to continuing in the future."
