Skipton Charities Gala Committee has presented £3,000 to 13 local charities - £1,000 more than the previous year's handout.
Committee chairman Geoff Dunn, who made the presentations with president Georgina Stodart at Herriots Hotel, Skipton, said a lovely day, coupled with an increased attendance, had helped boost last year's takings.
The biggest single recipient at £500 was Craven Domestic Violence Service, which provides region-wide support services for children who have experienced or witnessed domestic violence. The money will help fund the creation of a children's room in Skipton, a safe space for young people affected by violence in the home.
Other recipients were: The Carers' Resource Centre at Broughton Hall, Craven Volunteer Centre, 5th Skipton Scout Group, Skipton Rugby Football Club, 9th Skipton (Christ Church) Scout Group, Skipton Girlguiding UK's Castle and Greenacres District Brownies, Embsay-with-Eastby Pre-School Playgroup, Skipton and Craven Action for Disability (SCAD), Kildwick and Farnhill Scout Group, Embsay Rainbows, RSPCA and the Mayor of Skipton's Prostate Cancer charity.
The 108th Skipton Gala will take place on Saturday June 14.
